We grow, process and export premium Hass & Fuerte avocados, fruits, vegetables and culinary herbs — straight from the Kenyan highlands to importers, retailers and food-service buyers across four continents.
Gem Africa Agroprocessing was built on one mantra:
"Farmers first."
We own and operate our own farms, and extend our sourcing network to hundreds of contracted smallholder farmers across Kenya — giving them technical support, better prices, and reliable market access. The mission is simple: connect Kenya's agricultural wealth to the world, through socially, environmentally, and economically responsible practices.
Our vision is to be a leading producer of safe, high-quality products — grown ethically, handled expertly, delivered reliably.Vision · GAAPL 2026
Every box, drum and bunch traces back to a named farm and a real grower. International food-safety standards, locked at the pack-house.
Kenya ranks among Africa's leading avocado exporters — and GAAPL sits at the front of that line. We grow, process and ship premium Hass and Fuerte avocados with full traceability from tree to terminal. Built to handle bulk volumes, avocados are the heartbeat of our operation. We supply fresh fruit to importers, retailers and food-service buyers across Europe, the Middle East and Asia (China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India and more) — and cold-press premium avocado oil from the same high-grade harvest.
The world's most traded variety. Dark, pebbly skin turns near-black at ripeness. Inside — a rich, nutty-buttery flesh with high oil content and outstanding shelf life. Built for long-haul export and supermarket retail.
Classic pear-shape with glossy, smooth green skin and pale, creamy flesh. Mild and delicate in flavour — beloved by European buyers for its large size and easy peelability.
Cold-pressed from premium Hass and Fuerte at peak ripeness — keeping the fruit's natural colour, flavour and full nutritional profile. High smoke point makes it ideal for high-heat cooking; rich oleic content suits cosmetic and nutraceutical use.
Kenya's highland growing zones — Muranga, Kirinyaga, Nakuru — sit between 1,200 and 2,000 m above sea level. That altitude-driven terroir produces avocados with exceptional dry matter, superior oil levels and a longer natural shelf life than fruit from many competing origins. Combined with direct airfreight to European markets, Kenyan avocados arrive fresher — every time.
Every variety traceable to a named farm and a named grower — no anonymous middlemen.
Over 80% of our raw material is sourced from hundreds of contracted smallholder farmers, supplemented by our own farms and pre-qualified suppliers. Our technical team supports every contracted grower.
We operate our own farms directly and work with a contracted network of smallholders — providing extension services, inputs guidance and guaranteed market access.
Field agronomists run regular farm visits, supporting farmers with Good Agricultural Practices, pest management, harvest timing and post-harvest handling.
Every box of produce passes vigorous grading, sorting and quality checks at our pack-house before being packed to spec and dispatched under cold chain.
We handle phytosanitary certificates, certificates of origin and customs documentation — ensuring smooth clearance at every destination port.
Our farmer network carries GlobalGAP certification — international Good Agricultural Practice standards from soil to dispatch.
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points system in place across our pack-house operations — ensuring food safety at every critical stage from intake to cold-chain dispatch.
Registered with China's General Administration of Customs (GACC) — a mandatory requirement for all food exporters supplying the Chinese market.
